biography
Petar Jakonic was born in 1958 in Belgrade. He graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Drama Arts. He works as an editor of short, documentary, feature and TV films, serials and spots, as a director of TV and documentary films and as a scriptwriter. He wrote film critics and essays; he is the coauthor of the book on Vojislav Nanovic, the pioneer of the Serbian film; he has also made alternative films. Until 2005, he has worked as an editor and director in the RTS and for a year as a professor of editing at the BK Academy. He directed the TV film “Covek u srebrnoj jakni” (“The Man in a Silver Jacket” – 1986) and documentary films: “Covek po sredini” (“The Man in the Middle” - 1989), “Srpska verzija sloma” (“The Serbian Version of the Breakdown” – 2000), “Crveno doba” (“Red Period of Time” – 2000-2003). Some of the realized scripts of Petar Jakonic are “Covek u srebrnoj jakni” (“The Man in a Silver Jacket” – 1985), “Zemlja istine, ljubavi i slobode” (“The Land of Truth, Love and Freedom” – 2000), “Crveno doba” (“Red Period of Time” – 2000-2004), TV serial “Ljubav i mrznja” (“Love and Hate” – 2007-2008). He is the member of the Association of Artistic film and TV Collaborators. He is currently freelance film and TV worker.
